Whilst the TC57 and TC58 may look quite similar, the two devices are miles apart when you start to look at the internals and their intended use cases. Understanding the difference between the two devices is important to ensure that when you build your device estate, your devices work with your business, colleagues, and their tasks.
TC57 Vs. TC58 - The Key Differences
In addition to the internal changes, the new TC53 and TC58 have been designed to work as flexible devices. These smart devices are able to fulfil multiple device rolls, such as; barcode scanners, mobile workstations, two-way radios, and even a hybrid Point-of-Sale (POS) station. Able to connect with everything required to create a complete on-demand POS: the monitor, payment terminal, mouse, keyboard, receipt printer, scanner, etc.
The other notable addition is their parcel dimensioning with a single button press, this new feature can improve the accuracy of many business actions, including parcel processing, load planning, and trailer loading. Both devices now have an integrated Time of Flight depth sensor that collects accurate “legal for trade” parcel dimensions in just seconds with a simple press of a button.

Whats the difference between TC53 and TC58?
Ultimately the only difference between the two new devices is cellular connectivity, the TC53 is a Wi-Fi-only device, while the TC58 has Wi-Fi and 5g connectivity. If your devices have any chance of moving outside your Wi-Fi range, using the TC58 is a must, but, if you know your site has strong Wi-Fi connections that cover your entire site, the TC53 is an easier and cost-effective solution.
